Hougang Central brings a mall, a bus interchange and a train station together at one address, which can make a countrywide sales figure feel distant from it. The August 2026 numbers are still worth setting beside the district. According to EdgeProp Singapore, citing URA data on 15 September 2026, developers sold 153 new private homes excluding executive condominiums (ECs) that month, or 171 with ECs.
EdgeProp Singapore compared the 153 with 731 in July 2026, a fall of 79.1%, and with 2,142 in August 2025, a fall of 92.9%. By region it listed 72 sales in the Rest of Central Region (47%), 57 in the Outside Central Region (36%) and 24 in the Core Central Region (16%). These are island-wide counts. They do not break down to district level, so they say nothing specific about District 19 or Hougang.
The report gave two calendar facts. The lunar seventh month began on 13 August in 2026, against 23 August in 2025, and no new project launched in August. Realion's Christine Sun, quoted by EdgeProp Singapore, linked the larger year-on-year gap to the earlier start. One analyst said that August was the lowest monthly volume excluding ECs since February 2024, and SRI's Mohan Sandrasegeran called the month a "temporary breather". The September figures will be published by URA.
The project's own setting is easy to describe. Linktown Residences stands on Hougang Avenue 10 at Hougang Central in District 19, with Hougang MRT (NE14) about 140 m away and linked. The development is integrated: a condominium of about 830 homes beside a new CICT mall of around 300,000 sq ft net lettable area, a bus interchange and a town plaza. The tenure is 99 years leasehold.
UOL Group Limited and CapitaLand Development hold the project in an equal joint venture, and CICT owns the commercial component. URA awarded the site on 14 January 2026 to the consortium of CICT, CapitaLand Development and UOL Group. The project is in pre-launch, and the unit mix, pricing and launch details will be published as the developer releases them.
Because the project is integrated, the district context reads closer to a town-centre story than a standalone one. The mall is planned at about 300,000 sq ft of net lettable area and owned by CICT, while the bus interchange and town plaza share the site with the homes, which number about 830. Hougang MRT (NE14) is about 140 m away and linked, so the station, the shops and the bus services sit within one development footprint. These are project facts from the site's own pages, and they describe the setting rather than any change in value. For District 19 readers weighing the national figures, the useful step is to keep two scales apart: the report describes a month across the island, while the project facts describe one address in Hougang. Floor plans, pricing and the preview schedule will be published as the developer releases them.
For the walking routes and the town centre around the station, the location page is the place to look, and the Linktown Residences home page brings the project together. The Sales Concierge can be reached through a short enquiry form.
